Digital clean-up part 2: Cleaning up the files from your pc

Even though in these futuristic times we’ve got a lot of data hanging in the clouds of the internet, there’s probably still lots of files on your pc.

Probably my best Paint skills 😂

I share my pc with my husband, so it can get messy. We don’t really see the need to create separate users, as it's easier and we trust each other not to mess anything up…most of the time. I work on a Windows pc so anything that follows will be around that. I don’t really feel qualified to give advice for a Mac computer as I don’t use it. I’ll probably receive too many complaints then.

1.    First I separated the files from my hubby  with 2 maps in my documents. There were a few remaining files that needed to say there, as they'e from programs on my pc. I also kept the finance map separately as my husband also looks into it. You can create a new map by clicking the yellow map on the screen or press the buttons Control + Shift + N.

2.     I didn’t organize the files of my husband, as he probably wants his own system.

3.     In my own map I created some submaps: Administration, archive, library, blog, job, study, & vacation.

4.     Afterwards I organized the files in their right submap.

5.    I also cleaned up the photos and videos. Now with the new little bundle of joy it looks like those files grew exponentially. Definitely (and unfortunately) with the Covid pandemic, pics and vids are the only way to share nowadays with the family. Anyone who gave birth like me in the peak of the pandemic, probably knows how sad this feels.:( But not much we can do for now.

6.   I also divided in submaps here: Little rainbow(pics and vids of my son), vacation, family gatherings, random fun

This probably wasn’t as much work as my inboxes. But it took me around 40 minutes.
